Will Rice lost his lead soon after our first update went out, but found his way back just in time for today’s email. Here’s a list of our leaders over that span, with scores in parentheses:

5/1  Will Rice  (2 10)
5/2  Boller/Orobona  (3 14)
5/3  Michael Orobona  (3 15)
5/4  Michael Orobona  (3 15)
5/5  Michael Orobona  (3 15)
5/6  Will Rice  (2 11)

Starts tonight by Max Scherzer and Trevor Bauer are likely to change our leaderboard once again by way of the NL/AL IP categories...

Will Rice only needed two correct picks to sit atop the first leaderboard of our 15th annual MLB Predictions Pool. We’ve already had a few injuries amongst our more popular picks (Trea Turner, Giancarlo Stanton), as well as some big names with slow starts on the mound (Corey Kluber, Chris Sale, Jacob deGrom). Before you demand a refund, remember we’re barely five weeks into the season! There’s plenty of time for players to turn things around (or get even worse)...

See you next Monday!

Happy Opening Day!

Thanks for joining the 15th annual MLB Predictions Pool! Jud will be defending his title in a group of 18 entrants, giving us a grand prize of $360. If you picked Khris Davis for HR or Hunter Strickland for saves, you’re already in first place!

Please use the attached PDF to verify your picks for the season. This grid and a breakdown of our picks can also be viewed at http://mlbpool.blogspot.com/ HERE at the top right under “2019 Predictions Pool Info.” You can also use our blog site for news on relevant injuries and other pool-related info.

We’ve already received most of our payments… Everyone else can send the $20 entry fee to either Dan or Jud by the end of April. All paid entrants will be shown in green on the "2019 Complete Pool Picks" link on the blog site. We’re very happy to accept PayPal made to judehrbar@gmail.com (please pay any fees as sender).

Starting May 1st we'll post full standings every day on our blog site and tweet daily at @PredictionsPool. Email updates will also begin on May 1st, and continue after that on Mondays for the rest of the season.

Have fun, and good luck!

-Jud and Dan
