Max Scherzer’s refusal to leave the mound with two outs in the bottom of the eighth in Cincinnati made baseball headlines yesterday, and rearranged our pool leaderboard as a footnote. Scherzer’s 8 IP tied German Márquez for the NL IP lead, knocking Dan McCloskey out of first and restoring last Monday’s three-way tie at the top.
